The Antelope Audio Discrete 8 AFX/Edge/Verge bundle includes the Discrete 8 audio interface with the premium effects bundle, one Edge large diaphragm condenser modeling mic, and six Verge small diaphragm condenser modeling mics.
Discrete 8 AFX

The Antelope Discrete 8 AFX is a Thunderbolt/USB audio interface from Antelope Audio. Now offering eight six-transistor console grade fully discrete microphone preamps and highest quality converters to enhance the sound quality and power, it is the perfect fit for commercial facilities, home studios and mobile recording. Discrete 8 AFX features the Premium AFX collection allowing use of 16 channels of built-in FX.

The preamps can handle up to 121 dB of dynamic range, and are hand-designed by the team at Antelope to offer world class sound. The FPGA engine transforms the internal preamp into several classic preamps using Accusonic modeled tubes, transformer and FET based circuitry in real time. Bipolar transistors keep THD and noise extremely low, which is uncommon in a discrete design.

Discrete 8 offers a total of 28 inputs and 32 outputs via analog, S/PDIF or two ADAT connections. Also features two headphone outputs as well as two re-amp outs.
PREMIUM AFX COLLECTION

With the Premium AFX Collection users can access the full studio power of Antelope Audio's real-time FPGA FX. Premium AFX allows users to use 8 channel strips with 4 FX instances each and up to 16 channel strips using the upcoming AFX2DAW plug-in and all 50+ Antelope Audio real-time FPGA FX.
Edge

The Antelope Audio Edge is a new dual-capsule large diaphragm condenser modeling microphone to be used with the new Antelope Discrete audio interfaces. With the use of Accusonic 3D modeling technology, you can transform this microphone into several vintage replicas. You have complete control over proximity effect, off-axis response, and even change the polar pattern during or after recording. With the use of the dual-capsule, you can blend two microphones together at once.

The FPGA modeling engine allows total customization of the microphone preamp, addition of vintage compressors and EQs, and effects that can all be monitored in real time with zero latency for a true hardware performance experience.

The unique design comes from attaching the electrical lead to the edge of the diaphragm rather than the center. This offers a much smoother and natural response and is the secret sound to many sought-after vintage microphones.

An included cable splits the signal into two outputs, which are perfectly matched and calibrated for the Accusonic preamps inside the new Discrete audio interfaces. Models include the C12/C12VR, U47, U67, U87, M49, M149, UMB57, TLM103, C414m ELA M251, AK47, C800g, R122 and 4038.

Signals can be recorded with or without modeling, allowing the artist to still monitor these settings in real time, but leave flexibility to the engineer to reshape the sound later down the road in the mixing process using the AFX2DAW plug-in.

All settings can be controlled through the interface control panel, they can also be controlled or automated inside your DAW with the AFX2DAW plug-in. Complete channel strips and up to eight AFXs can be saved and recalled within your session. You can have as many mic models active as there are preamps available in your Antelope interface. Pair this the Edge with the Verge microphone to unlock an entire locker of vintage microphones.
Verge

The Antelope Audio Verge is a new small diaphragm modeling microphone from Antelope Audio designed to be paired with the new Discrete series audio interfaces. In order to reproduce any small diaphragm classic mic, Antelope chose the cleanest possible mic design.

The Verge can handle very high SPL levels, up to 132 dB, without the use of a pad and can replicate the responses of the industries top small condenser mics. The frequency range spans from 40 Hz - 20 kHz. The Verge uses discrete electronics which are matched and calibrated for the Accusonic preamps that are available in the new Discrete interfaces. The user interface allows you to change the microphone pre or post-recording as well as adjust the high-pass filter.

Using the AFX2DAW plug-in, you can control and store all your settings within your DAW. Eight AFX can be saves and recalled into your session. You can have as many mics models active as you have available preamps in your Discrete Antelope interface.

Pair the Verge microphone with a Discrete interface by taking advantage of the pre-built bundles by Antelope. Owners of other Antelope FPGA ready interfaces are eligible for preferred pricing for individual mics and bundles.
